Al joined Talaria in February 2020 looking after communications and marketing.

Prior to this he worked for over 10 years at National Australia Bank in communications, heading up a Digital and Creative team focussing on video, social and cloud-based services and content, including helping leaders improve their on-camera presence.

He has worked in news, film, tv and corporate content production for large organisations and start ups.

He has a masters (Film and Television) from VCA, a BA in arts from Melbourne University, and a Grad Dip from RMIT in Professional Writing.

Liz has over twenty years of global financial services experience across a range of sectors, with roles covering operational management, strategy, risk management, compliance and audit.

Her most recent roles include being a member of the leadership team of a large-scale Remediation Program for NAB, Chief Strategy Officer for a startup niche banking consultancy firm based in UAE servicing clients in various countries.  Prior to this she was with First Abu Dhabi Bank (previously National Bank of Abu Dhabi) for 6 years with her last role being Head of Controls & Governance Corporate & Investment Banking, globally. Before her move to the UAE, Liz was based in Sydney with Macquarie Group.

She holds a Master of Finance & Investment from FINSIA, a Global Executive MBA from IE Business School as well as a range of certificates including FinTech from Harvard, Risk Management Assurance from IIA, Islamic Finance from CIMA and a Non-Executive Director Certification from the Non-Executive Director Association in UK.

Jamie is the Chief Executive Officer and co-Founder of Talaria Asset Management.

After completing a Master of Engineering, Jamie recognised that the same problem-solving and analytical skills fundamental to engineering could be applied in financial markets. He began his career in investment banking, joining Morgan Stanley’s London Graduate Program before moving to Goldman Sachs.

Jamie later transitioned to the buy-side, joining Deephaven Capital Management, a large US-headquartered multi-strategy hedge fund. In 2009, he became part of the core team that launched Tyrus Capital, a multibillion-dollar global equities fund that was one of the largest hedge fund launches in Europe at the time. Through his tenure, Tyrus earned multiple awards for both investment performance and business excellence.

In 2015, Jamie relocated to Australia, where he co-founded Talaria Asset Management.

Hugh began working in international equity markets in London in 1999 covering a range of global industries and sectors at Kleinwort Benson and Goldman Sachs, where he was consistently recognized by the likes of Institutional Investor, Greenwich Associates and Thomson Extel.

He subsequently moved into asset management, joining the international equities specialist TT International where he was part of the six-person team responsible for managing the firm’s long only Institutional Funds.

Hugh holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Letters from Melbourne University.

Max joined Talaria as an Investment Analyst in February 2020 as part of the investment team.

Max has more than 30 years’ experience working in financial services, most recently as a partner in Willis Welby, an independent research provider that he co-founded in 2009 giving advice to UK and US based institutional investors in global equities.

Before that Max spent six years running a long/short European book for ABN Amro Principal Strategies.

Max has also worked at leading UK, European, and US investment banks in equity sales, research, trading and management.

He has an MA in English Language & Literature from Oxford University.
